Mauritian Fruit Salad


  • 1 half ripe mango
  • 1 pineapple
  • 3 tablespoons of tamarind sauce
  • 2 red chillies or more if you want it to be spicier
  • 1 teaspoon of salt


Peel and cut the mango into pieces the size of your choice. Set aside. Peel and cut the pineapple into pieces and set aside.

In a mortar, crush the chili with salt, then add the tamarind sauce and a little water to make a sauce neither too liquid nor too thick.

Put the pieces of mango and pineapple in a bowl and pour the sauce over and mix well.

Let the Fruit Salad stand for at least one hour before eating.
