- 4 chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 2 tablespoons of light soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons of sugar
- 3 tablespoons of cornflour
- 7 tablespoons of flour
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- vegetable oil for cooking
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 2 tablespoons of sweet chili sauce
- 4 tablespoons of ketchup
- 3 tablespoons of light soy sauce
- ½ cup of water
- 2 tablespoons of toasted sesame seeds
Cut chicken breasts into stripes.
Combine the soy sauce, sugar, sesame and olive oil in a pot, add the chicken breast and let them marinate for at least 1 to 2 hour. Drain the chicken. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan on medium heat.
Combine together the cornstarch, flour, salt and pepper in a plastic bag then add the chicken stripes to the flour mixture and shake it so that the flour cover the chicken well then put small batches of chicken stripes to fry until golden brown before reserving them.
In a medium sauce pan mix the honey, the chili sauce, the ketchup, the soy sauce and the water then bring it to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer until the sauce starts to thicken.
Pour the sauce over the fried chicken, mix it to coat all stripes well, then sprinkle your Honey Sesame Chicken with toasted sesame seeds and serve it with some white rice, tamarind rice or fried rice.
