Ingredients:
- 300 g of flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of ginger powder
- 45 g of soft butter
- 115 ml of water
- oil for frying
Preparation:
In a large bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, salt and ginger powder. Add the soft butter and mix. Add the water little by little until you get a soft paste that does not stick.
Divide the dough in 2. Spread the dough neither too thick nor too thin and cut into strips of 9 cm by 3 cm. Take a strip of dough and make a vertical notch in the middle. Take one end of the band and pass it through the notch to form a bow tie. Do the same with the rest of the dough.
In a bath of hot oil drop the gato cravate one by one and let them brown. Once the cakes are cooked leave them on a paper towels. Enjoy tepid or if you want to keep them wait until they are completely cold and put them in an airtight box.
I would like to know what is the temperature of water do you use for the recipe? Is it cold, warm or hot? Thank you in advance. Waiting for your reply. Thank you.
